W14: Final Blog Post – Sounding off

What I thought I knew about blogging before taking this class:

I thought blogging required way more time than it actually does. I think I was used to seeing these massive blog posts and thought it had to be more formal than it is.

What I sought to find out as I started blogging each week:

I sought to find out more information on eating healthy in college, throughout the week I would think about ways the blog applied to my own life. I was able to discover ways to eat and make quick meals that were healthy. I sought to find ways to cook and eat healthy that not only were applicable to my blog but to my own personal life.

What I found out in the process of blogging:

I discovered throughout the process of blogging, that blogging is much more casual than an essay. While it still has to be semi-formal, I don’t have to write an APA essay for my blog to be credible as long as I cite credible sources and write with credibility.

What I learned that I didn’t know before:

I learned it was easier than I thought. Blogging is a great way to collect information and synthesize it in an informal manner. I really enjoyed learning new content and compiling a blog with that information.

What I want to know more about now that I have some experience blogging regularly:

I want to know how people blog for a living. Blogging seems simple, yet I understand how time consuming it can be when done consistently. I wonder how people get sponsored or how people grow their following.
